Biomedical refrigeration systems are specifically designed and manufactured for the storage of THERMOLABILE items (those subject to destruction, decomposition, or alteration due to temperature) such as biological samples or medications.

Research centers, laboratories, pharmacies (whether hospital-based or community-based), and healthcare facilities (ranging from large hospitals to small clinics) are some of the places where the controlled storage of products and substances is mandatory, in compliance with the sector’s specific requirements and regulations.

CORECO offers a complete line of refrigeration and freezing solutions for biomedical use, with cooling performance specifically tailored to the temperature uniformity, recovery, and stability required by current regulations. Equipped with local or remote alarms for temperature deviations, continuous monitoring of temperature and humidity—backed by battery systems that guarantee a minimum of 12 hours of data logging in the event of a power failure—a safety thermostat (anti-freeze) and doors secured with locks are just some of the features included in this equipment.

Units with net internal capacities ranging from 120 to 1,400 liters, designed for the storage of pharmaceutical products and biological samples.

Our equipment combines materials such as AISI-304 stainless steel, plastic-coated or epoxy-painted steel, and energy-efficient fans and compressors with low noise levels (< 60 dB).

Storage systems featuring shelves or drawers, with a distributed load capacity of 100 kg/m² and label holders. You can choose the option with adjustable horizontal and vertical dividers.

We offer models with solid doors or glass doors, both equipped with locks and removable weatherstripping. All units feature dual vertical LED interior lighting for maximum visibility.

All units can be supplied with legs of various sizes, height adjusters, or casters to facilitate mobility. Given the demanding nature of this industry, we offer a product simulation probe that we design and manufacture in-house, in accordance with DIN 13277, which ensures stable internal temperature.

Our pharmaceutical storage units feature an interior with built-in feed-throughs for easy access by external probes.

In the biomedical field, there are general standards that must be followed to ensure quality and professionalism in the manufacture of this equipment. These standards apply both to the product and to the company that designs, manufactures, and markets it.

  • ISO 13485: Based on the process-oriented approach of ISO 9001, this is a management system standard developed specifically for the manufacture of medical devices. It contains specific requirements for the manufacture, installation, and maintenance of medical devices.
  • Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on Medical Devices (MDR): This European Union regulation repeals the former Directive 93/42/EEC and governs the manufacture and distribution of medical devices and other medical products.
  • EN 61010: a standard that establishes safety requirements for electrical equipment used for measurement, control, and laboratory applications. All equipment found in a laboratory should comply with, at a minimum, this safety standard.
  • European Union Directive 2014/34/EU ATE x: regulates the requirements that equipment must meet for:
  • cold storage for explosive and highly flammable materials, which are very common in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • DIN 13277: a quality standard that replaces the previous DIN 58345 and DIN 58371 standards and establishes the requirements and specifications for refrigerators and freezers intended for medical use.

Our line of laboratory and vaccine storage cabinets includes three state-of-the-art units with features specifically tailored to the healthcare sector.

Advanced temperature and alarm management, in accordance with regulations for the storage of medications and vaccines, featuring audible and visual alarms in the event of temperature deviations, an open-door alarm, a sensor failure, or high condensation temperature.

Connection for external alarms and a probe with product simulation for better management of the refrigeration unit’s operation. EN58345 safety thermostat (standard for vaccines and optional for laboratories) prevents the temperature from dropping to the freezing point of heat-labile substances. Battery with charger compliant with EN58345 (standard for vaccines and optional for laboratory use), which enables autonomous operation of the digital control system, which will continue to manage temperature and alarm settings.

High-definition touchscreens or graphic displays with IP65-rated protection. Local or remote connectivity for temperature monitoring and alarms. Optional: Data logger, with access via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, HACCP data recording, viewable on screen and downloadable via USB port in CSV format (graphic display only).

Wi-Fi or Bluetooth interface, allowing you to view alarms and temperatures and access configuration settings from a PC, smartphone, or tablet.
